My not so restful sleep study.....

So one more thing that has been happening the last oh about 6 months is my inability to stay asleep at night, I thought that it had to do with Andrew's graveyard shifts, but it happens when he is here too... So my doc decided I needed a "sleep" study, let me tell you, there was NOT a lot of sleeping happening. I knew that there was going to be "probes" involved, but I had no idea..... So I get there after driving up and down Main street in Grantsville about 10 times! Finally the torture comenced, she parted my hair in about 8 places and scrubbed my head and put ekg glue and and a probey thingy in, then she put one in the back of my head and then on my forehead, she put two breathing cannulas so I had 4 prongs going into my nose, then she put I think 3 probes on my chin and taped over all of them, I should've taken a picture I'm sure I was quite fetching. There were also two straps, one around my belly and one around my chest, with two sticky things on my stomach and chest, 2 probes on each leg, and finally I had to keep a heart rate thing on my finger. I joked with her that the real study was to see if people could actually fall asleep with all this crap attached to them.... I think it was true.... I was really tired and did fall asleep much to my surprise, but then she wakes me up to fix one of my leg things..... Then the next thing I know she wakes me up at 5:30 and tells me its time to get up. Get up?? I just fell asleep! You're kidding, right?!? Nope. She told me when I got there that she would come in and give me therapy if I quit breathing or if my breathing was consistently irregular, guess what?? Neither of those things happened. So what did my sleep study show? I won't know for a week or 2. Great. Awesome. I also had a very vivid nightmare, which is usually when my sleeping is the worst, and yes it woke me up and yes I had a hard time falling back asleep afterwards, hence feeling like I had seriously just gotten to sleep when she woke me up. But from what the tech said I didn't have any instances while I was sleeping? Hmmm interesting.... I'm feeling SO LUCKY lately, good thing Andrew and I are going to Vegas for a quick get away in a few weeks, that is if we can figure out who will come stay with our kids and get William to karate and a T-ball game, oh and school...... Any volunteers???

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, I hope you get some sleep tonight.
I find it crazy that I have such a hard time sleeping sometimes. I used to be able to sleep in until 1. Thats when I miss being a teenager!

Tiffany! I've been a bit absent from your blog...it's was so exciting to see you updates!

The whole sleep thing...I'm so sorry! I can't imagine much worse than not being able to sleep than being awakened once you finally get there!! Yikes!!

BUT you and your hubby get to go to VEGAS?! That's awesome! What a fun get-away to recharge you!

PS I'm sure you are getting lots of advice, so forgive me if this is yet one more thing: When I was having sleeping issues last summer, my doctor put me on a daily vitamin B complex. It really helped and continues to make a difference when I remember to take it even now...good luck! I'll be sending lots of 'full night sleep' wishes your way!
