Funnies

I dyed my hair a deep red color, the next day at school I had the following conversation:

Jonah*: "Mrs. E why is your hair purple?"
Me: "It is not purple, it is red."
Jonah* stared at my head for a while then said, "you should really think about dying it purple."

One day I didn't wear makeup or contacts so I had on my glasses, 3 teachers told me I looked tired, which I feel is code for you look like poop. But now that I'm working with 2nd and 3rd graders, I have to be on my game. Which means getting in bed by 9:30, taking a shower everyday and doing my hair, just so I don't have to deal with snarky comments from my kids like, "Mrs. E, didn't you get up on time so you could do your hair?" and, "why do your eyes look all pale and red?" Okay, I must have looked like poop that day....

They are also very interested in who my husband or boyfriend is and how old I am and what my first name is. It's all so entertaining. I honestly LOVE my job!

Matthew also told me one day that he got separated from his class and that a zombie ate them.  He also hates how long school is and has started the whole, my stomach hurts, my leg is broken, crap to try and get out of going, it's going to be a LONG 13 years getting him through school.

I have a love/hate relationship with kids being so honest. AND I completely hate when people say you look tired, it is totally code for "Um, you look like poop today Von!" :)

I am glad that you are loving your job. Yeah!

I LOVE the honesty of children. I sometimes tell them when they're brutally honest with one another that perhaps we could think of another word to use, but for the most part, I adore it.

I love working with kids until they are just about ready to move on to 6th grade, then the hormones start to kick in and the emotional roller coaster really picks up speed.

Promise you'll never be bored in your job, though. :)

But really, would we rather be told we look tired or that we look like poop? :) You're always beautiful Tiffy.
And I think it's way funny that he claims he has a broken leg to get out of school! My oldest struggled with elementary but is really thriving in Jr. High so maybe Matty will too?
Love you!
