She's moving. We will miss her deeply.

Who? Our pediatrician that we've been going to for the past 6 years.  The first time we went to her William had picked liquid stitches off his head, he was about 2 and a half.  Here's the story. William was in the bath tub, I went into the other room because he was all washed up and I was giving him time to play, yes I know I'm a bad mom for leaving my child in the bath tub alone, and then I heard a crash and he was screaming.  Andy and I both ran into the bathroom and there was blood EVERYWHERE. We got him out, threw some clothes on him and rushed to the car.  One of us thought to grab a wet washcloth? I was holding him and trying to get the bleeding to stop, and wouldn't you know it he fell asleep when we were about half way to the hospital.  When we walked into the emergency room he woke up and saw the vending machine and said he wanted some chips then fell back to sleep.  Thinking about it now, why wasn't anyone concerned about a concussion? Anyway, he stayed asleep while they cleaned him up and glued his head back together. In the morning he woke me up and told me that his head was itchy I looked at his head and he had picked all the liquid stitches off his head so I called Dr. Heidi and they fit us in.  She was working out of a trailer while the building where her practice is was being built. She was fabulous with William and very personable. Then when Matthew was born and was in the NICU she personally called me to see how I was doing and was just SO thorough with him once we brought him home.  She has made me feel like she really cares about my boys and our family.  I would almost move to Colorado just so she could still be our pediatrician, ha ha, just kidding, I think its colder in Colorado than it is here. So if you live near Durango and need a pediatrician email me and I will give you Dr. Heidi's information because she is the BEST! And we will miss her.

I'm so sorry your pediatrician is moving away! That is SO hard! Our favorite pediatrician moved two Michigan 6 years after we began seeing him. We were so thankful that he got to see Scooter taking her first steps and learning to walk before he moved. She was 6. He was with us through at least 2 dozen of Scooter's hospitalizations and probably a dozen of Hopper's.

Thankfully, there were several other amazing pediatricians in the practice he left, and we've been with them for almost 18 years. But we still miss Dr. V. :) Are there other doctors in her practice that you like really well? I hope the transition to the new doctor goes smoothly, and I really am sorry you're losing her.

:::hugs:::
