I have been SLACKING!! But I've also been ENJOYING my family!! Christmas was GREAT! Matthew was in awe of all the wrapped gifts and was just impressed with the wrapping paper as he was the gifts inside, he just kept saying, "oh wow", it was DARLING! Matty got TONS of cars, only two of his gifts were non-car like items, I didn't realize that was the way it was until a couple of days later... Oh well he LOVES playing with cars....
William was very pleased that Santa left him and Matthew Nice List Certificates in their stockings and that he got "mostly" everything that he wanted.... He suddenly started talking about wanting to ask Santa for other stuff and that I could just call Santa on his cell phone (I told him that I had Santa's number and could call and tell him that he was being bad when he started acting up....) Ya that backfired a little..... Even though Andrew and I weren't able to get each other anything (well we each got something for the other that was under $20, I got an iTunes gift card and he got The Office, which I thought we didn't already have but we did, ya LAME I know...) It was a great Christmas and I'm happy we were able to be with family!!
We had a great family party with Andrew's family, all the cousins draw names and exchange gifts and then the adults exchange among couples. Matthew got a Hulk toothbrush holder from Caleb and William got a cool truck from Peter. William gave Esther a purple dress up princess tutu, slippers, crown, and wand. She put it on and used her wand to point at people's faces and growl, we asked her if she was being a bad fairy and she said that she wanted to be a mean bad fairy, it was hilarious! Andrew's oldest sister Heather and her husband Mike had us and they got us a pair of cool survival in a water bottle kits, a cute cross-stitch that says "Mothers of boys work from Son up to Son down." I've seen that saying before in vinyl and wanted to get it so it was perfect. Heather also got lasik this past year and they gave her a certificate for a night's stay at a bed and breakfast in Ogden, but they used to live there and didn't think they would be able to use it so they gave it to us!! They are going to meet us and take the boys while we go enjoy our night! I don't think she realizes what she's getting herself into with Matty - he is a horrible sleeper.... sorry Heather and Mike, but consider yourselves properly warned!!! Jason - Mike and Heather's Chinese high school foreign exchange student was included in the cousin exchange and we all learned how great he is with all the kids, Matthew became very taken with him at the party, it was just SO Fun!
