A Day Late and a Dollar (well a few hundred) Short!

I can't remember if I've blogged about it or not, but I REALLY want to be an RN and work either in the NICU (newborn intensive care unit) or with pediatric cancer patients.  I haven't been to school in at least 8 years, I will have to start at ground zero as far as credits go.  You have to have your CNA (certified nurses assistant) for nursing school, luckily the local applied technology center offers the course, well it started yesterday, so I will have to get financial aid and all of that in order by May, because that is when the next course starts.  Yes, all I have ever wanted to be was a stay at home mom, and I am one, but I can't get the thought out of my head that we need to be more prepared for the future and if we want to do all the things that we have dreaming of, I need to be pulling more of the weight, which is why I want to do something that I know I will enjoy and that I can do part-time and once all 3 boys are out of the house I can easily go to full-time.  My plan is to get my CNA and MA (Medical Assistant) so I can work in either a doctor's office or the hospital so they can sponsor me in nursing school, it may take me til all 3 boys are out of the house but its what I want to do.

What a great game plan. I still have no idea what I want to do when I grow up... kinda sad for me.

Following a dream while you're still young enough to dream is a very good idea.
:)

Good luck with it. It sounds like it will be difficult, but if it's what you want, good for you!!!

Good for you girl! My SIL is re-certifying her CNA and is going back to be a RN. You can do it:) You would be a great RN!

That is so awesome. It must feel so good to actually get started!

Derek wants me to get going in either fall or spring of next year. Hmmm...I am really nervous but If I take it one class at a time..I'll be alright.
